About Dr. Amiel Moshfegh

Dr. Amiel Moshfegh is a fellowship-trained vascular and interventional radiologist and the president of Southern California Vascular Institute. A Southern California native, Dr. Moshfegh emphasizes honest evaluation, clear explanations, and minimally invasive treatment when appropriate for each patient's condition. He serves patients across the greater Los Angeles area, with offices in Los Angeles, Huntington Park, and Bakersfield.

Dr. Moshfegh focuses on image-guided, minimally invasive procedures designed to target specific vascular and related conditions while limiting disruption to surrounding tissue when possible. Many of these procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis.

Education and Fellowship Training 

Dr. Moshfegh graduated with honors from the University of California, Berkeley, earning a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology. He went on to receive his medical degree from New York Medical College.

He completed his internship and radiology residency at the UCLA Kaiser Permanente Center, where he finished a mini-fellowship in interventional radiology and was recognized as a scholar of the Society of Interventional Radiology. His training culminated with a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at Cornell-NY Presbyterian Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he refined his expertise in advanced, catheter-based vascular procedures.

  • Uterine fibroid embolization (UFE), a minimally invasive treatment that reduces blood flow to uterine fibroids while preserving the uterus
  • Genicular artery embolization (GAE) for selected patients with chronic knee pain associated with osteoarthritis
  • Peripheral artery disease (PAD) treatment and complex arterial interventions
  • Varithena microfoam ablation for varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency
  • Sclerotherapy for problem veins

Throughout his career, Dr. Moshfegh has held leadership roles as director of endovascular intervention at several Los Angeles area centers, including Beverly Hills Vascular Center, VAC of South LA, and Marina Del Rey Hospital. As president of Southern California Vascular Institute, he leads a team dedicated to patient-focused, minimally invasive vascular care.
