Geniculate Artery Embolization (GAE)

Geniculate Artery Embolization (GAE) is a minimally invasive, image-guided procedure used to relieve chronic knee pain caused by osteoarthritis. By selectively reducing abnormal blood flow to the inflamed tissues of the knee, GAE helps decrease pain and improve mobility—without surgery or joint replacement.

Using advanced imaging, a specialist inserts a small catheter through a tiny incision and delivers microscopic particles to targeted geniculate arteries. This reduces inflammation while preserving normal circulation, allowing patients to return to daily activities with minimal downtime.
